Must-Visit Places in Hue:
1.1. The Imperial City (Đại Nội)
Recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage in 1993, the Imperial City is a must-visit destination for any tourist coming to Hue. Spanning 520 hectares, the architectural structures within the Imperial City are deeply influenced by the royal style of Vietnam.

This is the place where the emperors lived, worked, and held court. Visitors will walk along shaded paths and explore royal buildings, while learning captivating stories about the palace’s inner workings and history.
1.2. Thien Mu Pagoda
Hue is known as the ancient capital of Buddhism in Vietnam. Among many pagodas, Thien Mu Pagoda is the most famous and is considered the “heart” of Hue. Located in the picturesque An Ninh Thuong Village, Kim Long Ward, the pagoda features a serene atmosphere and historical significance.

According to legend, Lord Nguyen Hoang, during a boat ride on the Perfume River, discovered a hill resembling a dragon’s head, and from this, he decided to build a pagoda at this site to establish a spiritual foundation for the land. The pagoda has undergone numerous renovations, with the most notable one occurring in 1710 under Lord Nguyen Phuc Chu.
1.3. Khai Dinh Tomb
Khai Dinh Tomb, located at Chau Chu Mountain, Thuy Bang Commune, Huong Thuy District, about 10km from Hue city center, is the resting place of Emperor Khai Dinh – the 12th ruler of the Nguyen Dynasty.

The tomb was started in 1920 and completed in 1931. It is known for its unique combination of Eastern and Western architecture, making it stand out among other royal tombs in Hue. The tomb was also used as a filming location for the movie “Mat Biec” (Dreamy Eyes) directed by Victor Vu.
